Community Research
This project began from a curiosity to uncover the roots of a small suburban community near Philadelphia called Folsom. This investigation has stretched over a century and involved more than 50 families. The families and individuals that formed this community were varied and supportive. It truly was a remarkable community!
Family Research
Our initial project traced a family lineage back to the 1700s, revealing individuals who participated in the Revolutionary War, were trailblazers in education, and played significant roles in their communities. This endeavor was deeply personal, and it motivates my dedication to assist others.
Other projects involve examining over 200 documents from the Civil War related to an African American who served in the United States Colored Cavalry. These documents offered an abundance of information regarding this individual and his family.
Most projects begin with someone who wants to learn more about their family, possibly because their child's teacher has requested them to create a family tree, or they have encountered a "brick wall" in their own research. Whatever the motivation, I encourage them to begin now.
